Ikeda Wakaba Katana

The Wakaba Katana is a beautifully crafted sword that is modeled after a style favored in the 17th Century. The full tang blade is hand forged from 1064 high-carbon steel and features a blood groove and a chemically treated temper. This hardening process creates a stronger edge but is done in a manner that allows us to offer this sword at a more economical price. The deeply lacquered blue of the saya is repeated in the Japanese cotton tsuka-ito. This sword is well balanced, allowing it to move very quickly and very freely and is perfect for cutting and combat demonstrations. The tsuba is crafted from solid copper and its unique design beautifully accents this katana. This sword comes with a free sword bag and display box.
