This reproduction of a Napoleonic French 1st Vendémiaire General Officer’s sword has a tempered blade forged from high carbon steel. Swords such as this were typically private purchases by division or brigade generals and other officer’s throughout the command structure of the Grande Armée. The lavishly detailed hilt is brass and the grip is blackened wood. The sword is paired with a scabbard of blued steel with brass fittings.
