British 1814 Pattern House Cavalry Officers Sword

This British 1814 Household Cavalry is a replica of the sword that would have been in the hands of the officer’s of the British Household Cavalry at Waterloo. It has a tempered blade forged from high carbon steel which is robustly peened into an elaborately formed hilt of brass which is lavishly embellished with the regalia of the British Crown. The wooden grip is tightly bound in leather and inlaid with twisted banding of brass wire. The sword has a companion scabbard of wood which is overlaid in black leather and completed with brass hanging rings and brass fittings.
