This katana is crafted with traditional forging techniques from 1095 high carbon steel. The blade is folded and differential hardened using a traditional claying method. The wood handle is paneled with real ray skin and the tsuka-ito is made of premium teal silk. The saya is finished in a deep black lacquer with a black cotton sageo. The crane styles tsuba is crafted from iron. The fittings are superbly antiqued adding to the aesthetics of the piece.
