The AR-15 was first designed in the late 1950s by ArmaLite, Inc. who first marketed it as a military rifle with little success. In 1959, Colt bought the design and used it in 1963 to produce an automatic rifle that became the standard issue for U.S. troops in the Vietnam War. They dubbed this automatic rifle the M-16 and because of its success, Colt began to produce a semi-automatic version of it called the AR-15. They marketed this to law enforcement and the public. When the patents expired in the 1970s other manufacturers began making similar models, the AR-15 moniker was adopted for all rifles made in this style.
Made entirely of die cast metal, this non-firing AR15 comes with digital camouflage colored skin. Its many features include three adjustable stock positions, moving charging handle and ejection port, the metal magazine has a functioning release, and it has adjustable sights on Picatinny rails. This 1:3 scale model is non-firing and comes with a trophy stand. Mix and match with interchangeable parts or customize it with accessories like our 4x scope.
